Authorities in Tucson, Arizona, are investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mother of a TV presenter, after discovering blood droplets at her residence. The police are treating the case as a potential crime, although no suspects have been apprehended yet.
The blood was found on the front steps of the house owned by the grandmother, whose daughter, Savannah Guthrie, hosts the Today show. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos mentioned that the police processed the scene for evidence like blood, DNA, and fingerprints, which were sent to a lab for analysis. However, no conclusive information about the source of the blood has been obtained so far.
Sheriff Nanos explained that they collected DNA samples from the scene to potentially identify the individual involved. Nancy was last seen on Saturday night after being dropped off at her home by a family member. Concerns were raised the next day when she missed a church service, leading her family to contact the authorities.
Nancy’s car and phone were left behind, and it was highlighted that she requires daily medication for her health. A reward of up to $2,500 (£1,800) is being offered for any information related to her disappearance. Savannah Guthrie, in a social media post, requested prayers for her mother’s safe return and emphasized the importance of faith and unity during this challenging time.
