Apple has announced the upcoming release of iOS 27, promising significant performance improvements for iPhone users, particularly those with older devices. The latest update, unveiled at WWDC in California, includes enhancements such as a smarter Siri assistant, improved Apple Intelligence, better photo editing tools, and customizable Liquid Glass appearance options.
According to Apple, iOS 27 is expected to make apps launch up to 30% faster, leading to a smoother user experience. Additionally, photo loading speeds are projected to increase by 70% across devices, and AirDrop transfers will be up to 80% quicker.
One of the standout features of iOS 27 is the CPU scheduler, designed to allocate maximum processing power to the active app on the screen, rather than distributing it across all applications running on the device. This optimization is anticipated to make older models like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 feel faster and more responsive.
Apple emphasized that the performance adjustments will result in faster, more enjoyable everyday tasks for users, potentially extending the lifespan of older devices and eliminating the necessity to upgrade prematurely. While the exact release date for iOS 27 is yet to be announced, it is expected to be available in September.
