Teenage girl falls from ambulance on M6 motorway

A teenager was swiftly taken to the hospital following an incident where she reportedly fell from an ambulance on a busy motorway. The emergency response occurred on the M6 southbound at junction 32 connecting to the M55 on a Tuesday evening. Fortunately, the girl’s injuries are believed to be minor.

Lancashire Police were on the scene, responding to a road traffic collision. They advised that the motorway would be closed for an extended period while they assessed the situation. Drivers were urged to find alternate routes to avoid the area.

The incident was initially reported at 5:17 pm, and by around 7 pm, all lanes were reopened as per Lancs Live. Lancashire Police later confirmed the details, stating, “At 5:17 pm on Tuesday, January 6th, a teenage girl was reported to have fallen from the rear of an ambulance on the M6 southbound to M55 slip road. She was transported to the hospital with no serious injuries. The motorway closure was brief, and it is now fully operational.”

In another unfortunate event, a woman in her 60s lost her life after a collision in a layby, leading to the arrest of a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The fatal crash, involving three vehicles – a grey Porsche Cayenne, a red Fiat 500, and a white Volvo Tipper lorry – occurred around 8:50 am on a layby on the A10 between Hertford and Broxbourne.

The Fiat and Volvo were stationary at the time of the incident. The woman in her 60s, who was outside the Fiat during the collision, tragically passed away at the scene despite efforts by the emergency services.

DC Lewis Stanley from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit appealed for witnesses to come forward, especially those with dashcam footage. The man in his sixties driving the Porsche was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further investigation.

Witnesses are encouraged to reach out to authorities by providing information related to the incident. Hertfordshire Constabulary has requested anyone with dashcam footage to upload it online for further examination.
