“Iran Warns of Retaliatory Strikes Against US Amid Protests”

Iran has issued a warning of immediate retaliatory strikes against the US if President Donald Trump intervenes in the ongoing protests. The country has witnessed chaotic scenes with reports of over 500 fatalities and 10,000 arrests during the protests in various cities, including the capital Tehran.

Amid discussions about potential US involvement in supporting the protesters, Iranian officials have declared the US as a “legitimate target.” Opposition groups from Britain have highlighted instances of police violence against protesters and noted acts of courage, such as elderly individuals confronting armed forces by making noise with pots and pans.

Despite facing internet restrictions, protesters have managed to share videos and first-hand accounts using special Starlink terminals that were smuggled into the country. Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf has cautioned that the US and Israel could face retaliation if they attack Iran.

President Trump has expressed readiness to assist Iran in achieving freedom, a sentiment that has drawn criticism from Iranian politicians who see US intervention as provocative. The unrest has led to a significant number of casualties, with reports indicating that many victims were shot by security forces at close range.

Exiled Iranian figure Reza Pahlavi has voiced support for the protesters, emphasizing the need to continue demonstrating collectively and avoid putting lives at risk. The situation remains tense, with ongoing clashes between protesters and security forces, fueling concerns about further violence and instability in the region.
