A 23-year-old man, Eduardo Mauricio da Silva, who went missing in Bertioga, Brazil, on New Year’s Eve, was found disoriented in a wooded area five days later. Reports suggest that Eduardo asked to be dropped off on the side of a highway in the Sítio São João neighborhood before disappearing. His family last heard from him when he texted his father in the early hours of January 1. Eduardo’s family reported him missing later that day, and surveillance footage showed him in a wooded area before he was located by a man who contacted the family.
According to Eduardo’s aunt, he was discovered weak, malnourished, and disoriented in a remote forest on January 5. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, but his emotional state appears shaken. The Fire Department was called but later confirmed Eduardo had already been found. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Baixada Santista.
On the same day, another man named Roberto Farias Tomaz went missing on Pico Paraná in Brazil. After five days of searching, Roberto was located after walking 20km through challenging terrain to the Cacatu area of Antonina. He survived on limited supplies and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
