The private funeral service took place at 11am local time, with screens set up at various locations in Saint Tropez for those who wanted to witness the ceremony live. Bardot’s burial occurred at the Marine Cemetery in Saint Tropez, where the public was not granted access.
Bardot, who died peacefully at her home in Saint-Tropez surrounded by her cats, had been battling severe back pain following cancer-related surgeries. The funeral procession featured live music as the coffin, adorned with flowers, left the church.
The burial, scheduled for the Marine Cemetery overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, will be a private affair. Bardot’s son, who had been estranged from her for years but had reconciled in recent times, was seen at the funeral service today.
Prominent figures, including singer Mireille Mathieu and businessman Max Guazzini of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, paid tribute to Bardot at the service. Attendees and well-wishers gathered outside the screens in Saint Tropez to honor the iconic actress and animal rights activist.
