Holly Willoughby is currently entangled in a legal dispute concerning her £8 million grand residence. The 44-year-old former host of This Morning is reportedly appealing to extend her property, having already received approval for a gym and cinema.
The mother of three, who purchased the six-bedroom family home with her spouse, TV producer Dan Baldwin, 51, after moving from their £3 million Edwardian house in London, is seeking to expand the ‘heritage’ property by adding a ‘link infill extension’ between their house and an outbuilding on the premises.
Acquired in 2024, the couple had initial plans approved for a gym, cinema, and a ground floor link to the property. However, their latest request for expansion has been criticized as ‘overly dominant’ and ‘inappropriate.’ Holly and Dan have since filed an appeal in an effort to secure approval for the proposed works.
Following a traumatic incident involving a thwarted kidnap and murder plot in London, Holly and Dan relocated with their three children and bought the current residence in July 2024. The harrowing experience prompted Holly to step down from her long-standing role on This Morning after 14 years, emphasizing the need to focus on positivity amidst adversity.
In a separate incident, Holly faced legal repercussions last year after pleading guilty to causing an accident with a scooter rider. The court heard that Holly, driving her £25,000 black Mini Cooper, collided with the victim, resulting in injuries including a fractured vertebra and a broken toe. As a consequence, Holly received six penalty points on her driver’s license, a fine of £1,653, and additional costs.
During the court proceedings, Holly’s defense emphasized her remorse, attributing the incident to a ‘momentary lapse in judgment.’ The Mirror has sought comment from Holly’s representative regarding these developments.
