“Married Couple Dies from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning at New Forest Festival”

A tragic incident unfolded as a married couple was discovered deceased inside a camper van in New Forest, with authorities attributing their deaths to carbon monoxide poisoning. The victims, identified as Christopher and Kayleigh Coll from Blandford Forum, Dorset, were found lifeless on October 12 during their attendance at the New Forest Cider Festival in Burley. The couple, known for their strong bond, left behind four children – Shyla, Alex, Kaizer, and Emily – who are now under the care of relatives.

During an inquest held at Winchester Coroners Court, it was revealed that the couple had been using gas heating in the camper van, and despite efforts from paramedics, Christopher, 48, and Kayleigh, 38, could not be revived at the scene. The cause of death was determined to be carbon monoxide toxicity by Area Coroner Nicholas Walker, who adjourned the proceedings until July 22, 2026. Following the tragedy, the family paid tribute to the couple, describing them as vibrant, kind, and deeply devoted parents.

To support the children left behind, a GoFundMe campaign was launched and has already raised over £30,000 of its £37,000 target. Mr. Coll, who operated Mystacoll’s Spirit selling handcrafted items, had expressed excitement on Facebook before the cider festival. In a statement released through the police, the family emphasized the irreplaceable void left by the couple’s passing and requested privacy to mourn and protect the children’s well-being.

Friends and well-wishers also shared heartfelt tributes on social media, expressing love and admiration for the departed couple. Festival organizers extended their condolences to the family and clarified that the tragic incident occurred in a private vehicle unrelated to the festival, with authorities confirming no suspicious circumstances.
