“King Charles’ Modest US Visit Plans Unveiled”

Rumors are circulating that King Charles might be planning a trip to the United States for an official visit in the coming months. A Trump official has disclosed the potential modest reception the monarch could encounter.

Discussions regarding the King’s visit to the US are reportedly in progress, although the Palace has not yet confirmed it. Reliable sources suggest that King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to journey to America in the Spring, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the US declaration of independence.

Contrary to the grandeur of Donald Trump’s UK state visit last year, King Charles might not experience a similar level of pomp during his potential visit to the US. White House staff secretary Will Scharff hinted at the possibility of the King using a portable lavatory, as part of Trump’s plan to construct an opulent ballroom in place of the East Wing for hosting foreign dignitaries.

Currently, visiting state leaders are accommodated in luxurious tents on the South Lawn due to space constraints in the East Room. To facilitate this, portable toilets have been set up nearby to provide convenience for guests.

Acknowledging the less-than-ideal situation at the White House for hosting esteemed foreign guests, Mr. Scharff expressed concerns about the image it portrays for the US.

The King’s anticipated visit, according to reports from The Times, is scheduled for April and would mark the first trip by a British monarch since 2007 when the late Queen visited former US President George W. Bush.

This visit would also be King Charles’ first trip to the US since his son Prince Harry moved to California with Meghan in 2020, although any meeting between them during the trip seems highly unlikely.

Trump has shown admiration for the royals, considering them an asset in UK-US diplomacy. Following his second state visit to the UK, Trump praised King Charles, referring to him as a “great gentleman and a great King.”
